Adventure Park Le Pigne: an experience between fear and courage

Dear readers,

today, I take you on an adventure filled with fear and courage, told by a young-spirited mother with more worries than certainties. I, an athlete with the “syndrome of senile adolescence,” and my daughter, a sporty and brave teenager… just like her father!

A wake-up among the beeches

I wake up to the sound of birds singing, nature reminding me that life is more than a computer screen. After a healthy and sweet breakfast at the Guest House Seme di Faggio, my daughter and I head towards Ameno. She, full of energy and smiles, and I, with my heart racing faster than it should. My fears? Too many to list. Let’s start with the fear of aging.

Arrival at the Park: first impressions

At Adventure Park Le Pigne, we are welcomed with smiles and contagious energy. The instructors are fantastic, dressed in green and orange, like superheroes ready to save me from myself. I look at the structures and think, “Well, I’m in trouble.” But there’s something reassuring about the smell of wood and the rustling of leaves. I imagine myself as Madison from Fear The Walking Dead because, if I have to survive, I might as well do it in style.

Ready, Set… Go!

After the safety briefing, we venture onto the first blue course. I feel my heart in my throat, but I tell myself, “If they can do it among zombies, I can too.” My daughter is already ahead, full of enthusiasm and adrenaline. “Mom, we can do this!” she tells me, and her smile gives me the strength to keep going.

Adrenaline flows among the branches

We complete the blue course amidst laughter, screams (mine), and courage (hers). But it doesn’t stop there: my daughter decides to take on the red course. I watch her as she moves away, full of confidence. “Go, Mom! I’m here for you!” All I have left is my senile adolescent courage and the determination not to appear too scared. She completes the red course brilliantly. As for me? I feel just like Madison watching her daughter Alicia grow up too fast.

An example of courage

I find strength in my daughter’s determination and my desire to survive this adventure. I complete the entire blue course. I feel reborn, as if I’ve fought against zombies and am still here to tell the tale. The instructor understood, and I think he saw everything: “Is that good?” I replied with a thumbs up, my left finger pointing towards the refreshment area, and a huge smile.

An oasis of joy and sustainability

In the park, a group of children aged 5 to 9 is having fun on the simpler courses, under the watchful eye of two guides and the instructors, who are so patient and helpful. Their laughter fills the air with joy, creating an atmosphere of celebration and freedom. They remind me that the true adventure is living in the present, without too many thoughts about the future.

There is no path to happiness. Happiness is the path. (Siddhartha Gautama)

A sustainable lunch

After so much adrenaline, it’s time to recharge. The sandwiches with local cold cuts and cheeses are a delight, a true triumph of flavors. The waste separation is managed carefully, and the canned water is a sustainable choice that fills me with hope. Here, respect for the environment is also a priority.

An experience to repeat

We return to the Guest House Seme di Faggio, filled with emotions and reflections. My daughter smiles at me, pleased and satisfied. I feel invigorated, aware that I have overcome my fears and lived an unforgettable adventure with her. “Feeling like a star in an episode of Fear The Walking Dead really helped me,” I think, smiling at the idea of having turned a simple outing into a personal survival mission.
